Rufus Stone

Lionel started playing the guitar when he was eleven and taught himself the bass because the school band did not have a bass player. In later years he toured the pubs and clubs of the UK with Living Large. Before moving to Spain he formed and played with a six piece band called Jungle Faced Jack. Once in Spain Lionel took a two and a half year break from playing to concentrate on "Rumors" the bar that he owns in Villa Martin Plaza, that was until he was approached to take part in a local charity concert and went on from there to form No Hot Ashes. Lionel is of a similar age to Gary and they share a similar taste in music. Lionel loves to play the David Bowie numbers he's been playing for years especially from his favourite albums; Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs and Ziggy Stardust. He claims his career high in music was forming and playing with Jungle Face Jake and the hardest thing he's ever done was to start a business here in Spain "...but we all get there in the end!!" he said with a laugh and a grin.
